Experienced counselor in private practice & at RMA
Jackie Biello, MA, LPC
I have been working as a counselor for 15+ years and have broad experience with infertility, pregnancy loss, and 3rd party reproduction, including donor egg and sperm, embryo donation, and gestational surrogacy. I work at RMA in Basking Ridge with patients facing infertility. I have both personal and professional experience in this area and understand the grief and loss that individuals and couples endure.
I completed my training in mental health at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte Counseling Center. I have post-graduate training in infertility counseling (Applegarth & Covington) and postpartum counseling (PSI). I am a member of RESOLVE and ASRM, and am currently pursuing a research study on children conceived through embryo donation and their feelings around disclosure.
I find walking alongside of my clients to be genuinely inspiring. It’s brave to entrust someone else with your story, especially during a time of emotional pain.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT BEING A COUNSELOR
MY APPROACH
My treatment style focuses on creating a comfortable and safe space, based on a sense of openness and acceptance. I use principles of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to help clients learn ways to cope with triggers and gain control over negative thoughts and behaviors.
Choosing a therapist and getting started with counseling can be intimidating. I am happy to provide a no-fee consultation over the phone to discuss how I can help and make sure it feels like a good fit before we schedule an initial visit.
